Richard Lafouchette is a police captain in the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office. He is a friend to the attorney Toni Bernette. He provides her with a list of inmates at Orleans Parish Penetentiary (OPP) to aid her in her search for David Maurice Brooks, who was reportedly in police custody at the time of his disappearance during Hurricane Katrina.
